In some cases, dogs are entering neighboring properties and using yards, common areas or the street for bathroom breaks without owners cleaning up afterward. This behavior is not only inconsiderate\u2014it is a violation of both our community covenants and county law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>POA Covenant Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our community covenants require the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pets must be restrained by a leash no longer than ten (10) feet when outside your property.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pets are not permitted in recreation areas at any time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pet owners must ensure their animals do not become a public or private nuisance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pet waste must be cleaned up immediately and disposed of properly, regardless of location\u2014including common areas and private property.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>County Law Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Sebring and unincorporated Highlands County, dogs are prohibited from roaming at large. They must be kept on a leash or under direct supervision at all times when outside the owner\u2019s property, including public streets, rights-of-way, and neighboring private property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How You Can Help<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We ask all pet owners to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep pets on a leash (maximum of ten (10) feet) whenever they are outside your property\u2014whether walking or riding on a golf cart.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean up after your pet immediately and dispose of waste properly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respect your neighbors and be mindful of how your pet\u2019s behavior impacts the community.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your cooperation helps maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for all residents.
