Monday, January 12, 2026 @ 9:00 a.m.
The Annual Membership Meeting of the Association is held yearly on the second Monday of January, when the Board of Directors election by ballot is held. This is an important meeting – please come and let your voice be heard through your vote!
Come and meet the candidates for the 2026 Board of Directors on Friday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m. We have seven people running for three open seats and we should be informed and know the candidates before we vote for them. Hear what they have to say and bring lots of questions!
The candidates for election to the Board of Directors are: Merrilee Ackerman, Rusty Alspaugh, Karen Beckman, Wendy Hanson, Miles McGee, Ricky Miller, and Earl Roser.
Our Bylaws state under Article III Membership:
“…a member’s right to vote shall not be exercised if the maintenance fees for that member’s lot or lots are not paid in full and current.”
Therefore, in order to vote at the January 12th meeting, all maintenance/HOA fees must be paid by December 31, 2025.
THINGS TO KNOW FOR THE UPCOMING ELECTION
As stated in our Bylaws, the Secretary of the Association has a large role to play in the election process for Directors. However, this year our Secretary Ricky Miller is also running for a Board of Directors seat in the upcoming election. Therefore, Ricky has recused himself from this procedure. Kathy Messier, the Association Treasurer, will be the Acting Secretary for the 2026 election and will handle the election duties as outlined for the Secretary.
- A member’s right to vote shall not be exercised if the maintenance fees for that member’s lot are not paid. A member is entitled to one vote for each lot for which all maintenance fees are paid in full and current.
- If a Member is unable to vote in person then an Absentee Ballot may be submitted following the instructions below.
Absentee Ballots
An Absentee Ballot may be submitted by members who are not in attendance at the Annual Meeting on January 12, 2026, when the election is held.
Absentee Ballots must be submitted as follows: placed in an inner envelope with no identifying markings and mailed or delivered to the association in an outer envelope bearing identifying information which reflects the name of the member, the lot or parcel for which the vote is being cast, and the signature of the lot or parcel owner casting that ballot. If the eligibility of the member to vote is confirmed and no other ballot has been submitted for that lot or parcel, the inner envelope shall be removed from the outer envelope bearing the identification information, placed with the ballots which were personally cast, and opened when the ballots are counted. If more than one ballot is submitted for a lot or parcel, all ballots for that lot or parcel shall be disqualified. Any vote by ballot received after the closing of the balloting may not be considered.
Absentee ballots shall be available to any member: An Absentee Ballot Request may be downloaded from the SFPOA website at the “Resident Info” tab under “Forms”. After completing the form, please send to Kathy Messier, the Acting Secretary, at dkmessier@gmail.com, who will verify if the member is qualified to vote. She will email you the Absentee Ballot which you can complete and then send the ballot as requested. Absentee ballots shall be returned using the above-referenced procedure to a Director who shall sign the official voting record and place the ballots in the sealed ballot box on the day of the election.
Since some of our Directors are running for reelection, they are unable to participate in the Absentee Ballot procedure. Therefore, please send your Absentee Ballot to one of the following Directors:
